an amazing reel what more can I say this is the Mercedes-Benz of fishing reels if you've ever bought a pole that came with a basic reel you know how frustrating it is when the internals start to corrode if you take care of this reel and you wash it with light pressure water after every fishing trip and you grease it up this reel will last a long time probably a fishing reel you can pass down to the next generation of fishermen this thing casts like a dream and is smooth like butter this is the second one I have bought I have a 2500 as well for catching bait fish I highly recommend it for the price it's worth it

Penn never fails
Just got back from a fishing trip using this reel. It was a pleasure to fish with. Smooth action and did a great job of catching a sly redfish in the LA marsh. Great reel for the price.
