What is the Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip?

Tour Velvet is Golf Pride's most iconic grip and golf's most-played. A plus-sign texture, blended rubber compound, and proven feel profile have made it a tour and everyday favorite for 30+ years. 50+ major wins since 1995.

Who is the Tour Velvet designed for?

Tour Velvet is one of golf's few truly universal grips. Its balanced feel — secure but not harsh, responsive but not soft — works for beginners and tour professionals alike. It's the grip fitters most often recommend as a reliable baseline.

What does the Tour Velvet grip feel like?

Tour Velvet's blended rubber is tacky enough for confident hold, and soft enough to reduce vibration without muffling feedback. Its plus-sign texture adds light traction without abrasion — that's why it's been the industry standard for over 30 years.

How does Tour Velvet perform in different weather conditions?

Tour Velvet performs consistently across most conditions. Its rubber compound stays tacky in light moisture and the surface texture channels water from the contact area. For sustained heavy rain, a cord option offers more reliable traction.

How long does a Tour Velvet grip last, and how do I care for it?

Tour Velvet is built to last — a full season or more with proper care. Wash periodically with warm water and mild soap to restore tackiness. Annual regripping keeps performance at its peak for active players.

Excellent grip

I like this grip. Not too "tacky", but a good solid grip. Not hard to install.

Very nice

Very nice grip, similar to the original Taylor Made grip on my driver. I cut down my old driver about 3 inches so my teenage son could use it. Install was easy. Run a couple of strips of double sided tape down the length of the grip area, dip the end into mineral spirits, slip the grip on about an inch or two (hardest part), then grab an air compressor, insert into the hole in the grip, inflate a tiny bit, and grip will slide down, while still inflated twist into position, and your good to go.
