Best Iron/Heme Iron I have found. READ!
* Read entire review, some things mentioned below you may have not thought about * Wonderful product! This helped me beat an anemic state I was dealing with. It seems to absorb so much better then Iron Bisglycine. This did not change my poop black right away, which Bisglycinate did. That is a sign, when supplementing iron that all the iron was not absorbed. Only after awhile of using it, did I start to notice black poop. No special way to take this iron either, no vitamin c needed, such as with Iron Bisglycinate. I would suggest you take this in the morning or on an empty stomach. Reason being, if your meals are high in calcium it can stop some of the absorption. The body also absorbs things better first thing in the morning. Calcium is the only thing that can stop SOME heme iron absorption. If meals are low in calcium, then you obviously can take the iron with them too. I personally took 1 Capsule first thing in the morning, 1 with lunch and 1 before bed. Everyone has different iron levels or already has a high iron diet, you may only need 1 a day or 2? If you are indeed low on iron, you can eat more Ground Hamburger, Steak/Red Meat, being as red meat has the most iron. You can also cook in cast iron skillets for the added iron intake. I believe I had an iron issue due to my past Vegan diet, I did not learn how to correctly eat with the vegan lifestyle. I was also deficient in B-12. There are Vegan foods high in iron such as Blackstrap Molasses but I did not know that, pea protein powder has a lot of iron as well. Lentils and Legumes also have high iron, which I was eating BUT I was not soaking them overnight or pairing them with vitamin C rich foods, etc. Plants and grains have anti-nutrients which minimize absorption of many nutrients. You can remove some anti-nutrients with soaking/cooking but not all. Something to look into if you never heard of it. Tea/Coffee also block some iron absorption, if taken at the same time. Please research. I just wish the capsule did not include Silicone Dioxide but it is pretty difficult to find supplements today without some type of filler/preservative/flow agent. Their other versions of Iron has Dyes so this is why I choose this. This version is often sold out, very popular! Other vitamin deficiencies/issues, leading to Anemia can also be: B-12 B-6 B-1 Vitamin A,C,E,K Folate Zinc Copper Possible Candida/SIBO/Parasites It could also be low stomach acid which is not allowing for the absorption of nutrients. For low stomach acid, you can use Apple Cider Vinegar 15 minutes before a meal ( 1 TBSP dulted in 8oz water ). Another long term fix is supplementing with Betaine HCI ( research before taking, could cause harm if your stomach acid is high or normal already ). Some times low stomach acid can also be caused from a diet too low in sodium. Recommended daily sodium is around 2300mg, needing more for keto/carnivore or if you workout/sweat a lot. I personally only cook unseasoned whole foods and then add sea salt to the food and my water. This allows me to properly track my sodium intake. VITIMIN B1 Defeciency can also cause low stomach acid. Last thing I know of that can cause/dilute stomach acid is electrolyte water or high PH water, due to it being too alkaline. I ended up buying a reliable PH Tester Pen and it indicates that my water was 9-10 in PH. Over time this high of PH can cause low stomach acid like stated. I personally use Reverse Osmosis water, then add: Magnesium Powder, Potassium Powder, Calcium Powder, Sea Salt. When I would drink it, I would always burp afterwards. This is a sign that it was too high in PH. I finally realized this and tested it. I still make my electrolyte water with powders because I workout a lot and sweat. I now though, add some lemon juice to bring PH down before I consume, this takes it down to 7.5-8.5 PH,depending on how much I add. If you drink electrolyte water as well, this may be something you may want to test, my setup will be different then yours so I cannot give exact measurements, etc. Please take time to research about everything I wrote prior to supplementing, you may have different kinds of symptoms. This is why vitamin panels/iron tests/general tests from your Doctor is your best bet. I personally treated it myself without a Doctor but it was a long road.

I’m feeling much better!
I’m getting my iron levels retested next week, so I’ll have to update my review. But two years ago when I tested my ferritin was low 20s. Then when I tested earlier this year it was 27 despite taking beef liver every day and eating red meat multiple times a week. I added these in the last several months and will update when I get my results back, but the noticeable differences I’ve seen is I stopped getting sick when I added these in and my energy went way up. So it must be working!

Superb iron
The best iron I’ve ever tried. Great for people who struggle iron absorption!

Proferrin tolerance
Great iron supplement, no side effects like the ones with ferrous compounds that generate a significant acid reflux. Looking forward to ferritin levels going up

Works
I have not had my levels checked but I can feel that I am not on the low side anymore as it is very apparent. One time I was told to stop taking my iron supp bc my pcp misinterpreted my iron panel. My energy, cold tolerance etc plummeted quickly. I have taken this and the Three Arrows supp which this co. Apparently sued for claiming to be a heme iron. Anyways Three Arrows worked great objectively through labs I know that my levels were going up and rather quickly after just one month. I wanted to try this brand and I can tell it works but it is a little hard on my stomach, which is why the four stars. I know it’s working but tummy upsets are not fun. If I don’t adjust stomach wise I’ll likely go back to the Three Arrows brand.

Horrible stomach pain
It works - my energy seems to increase, and it's the first iron that doesn't give me hives. But it does cause intense, horrifying stomach pain, like a hole is being burned into my stomach. This is the only iron that's done this. When I tried to decrease my dose by opening the capsule and putting some of it in the sink, I noticed that the iron that went into the sink would *not* wash away. It stayed in the sink despite heavy water pressure. I had to scrub it out. It just... sticks...which is, I imagine, the cause of the horrible stomach pain. Most other irons have a cellulose or something to keep the iron from literally just sticking around and causing gastritis. So take that for what it's worth for you, but I unfortunately can't tolerate it.
