Preserves higher frequencies better than Ear Peace etc.,
I've been using Ear Peace for years but those muffle out much of the higher frequencies, so music is adversely affected. These Etymotics let you hear the cymbals, reeds, and bows a lot better, so they allow for a better listening experience. On the downside, I seem to have to take them out every five minutes or so due to a build up of intense itching. That might just be me and my hairy ear canals, or maybe an allergy to this particular silicone, but it is a serious issue for me personally.

These guys are great.
I have two sets of these. One stays in my glovebox and the other stays in a case on my pedalboard. The ones in my glovebox have seen Slayer, Motorhead, and a bunch of other bands I'd namedrop but you don't care about. They're comfortable, and do a good job bringing the overall volume level down without killing the highs or changing the sound too much. And if you care about the band enough to buy a ticket and spend an evening standing next to obnoxious smelly drunk guys who keep yelling "WOOOOO", then you should care enough to buy some earplugs that won't affect the overall sound. But you know what they won't do? They won't cure tinnitus. If you're looking at buying some earplugs and you look at the price and say "hmm random product reviewer, these seem a tad expensive compared to the squishy orange guys I usually buy" just.. don't. You need to use earplugs every single time. And you should get QUALITY earplugs like these. In my 20s I always bought the squishy orange ones and then took them out halfway through the show because it sounded like crap. Don't be like me and wind up with tinnitus in your 30s and have to have a fan or white noise in order to be able to fall asleep. It sucks. Wear hearing protection. These are comfy, cheap, and don't mess with the sound. Make your future self thank you.

Good plugs, bad case!
As a teacher, I used these for a few days. The cute case hung on my lanyard. The plugs worked pretty good in lowering the overall dB in loud working environments, but the case didn’t snap shut all the way. The earplugs fell out once and I happened upon them on the floor. I thought I didn’t shut it all the way. I made sure that I was securely snapping the case after that. A few days later, I was reaching for them and the case was open, no plugs. I never found them again.

My go-to ear protection for years
I have tinnitus, and bought these ETY (noise reduction 12 decibels) to replace the exact same kind from this brand that I lost after 8 years of wearing regularly. They protect my ears from loud music in Spin class, and when I attend sport meets, or loud restaurants where I still want to be able to converse. Unlike the squigy disposable orange buds that work fine but block sound, with these, I can hear conversation and music, but my ears aren't aggravated afterwards. However, if I were operating extremely loud machinery, I would opt for ear protection that blocks sound out completely.

They work as advertised
I wore these at UNVRS when I went to see David Guetta, and they definitely helped. The club was insanely loud, but the earplugs made it much more bearable while still letting the music come through somewhat clearly. After about four hours my ears were still a bit sore, but without the plugs I’m sure it would have been much worse. Overall I’m glad I had them.

Works perfectly!
Great product! My husband has tinnitus, so normal earplugs (foam, putty, etc.) don't help him much. They completely block the sounds he wants to hear and tend to enhance his tinnitus, which is maddening for him. He works at an airport and wears sound cancelling headphones to protect his ears, but it makes it very hard to hear instructions from the pilots/passengers. He had also lost all the joy he used to feel at going to concerts or musical events because the music was too loud (and would damage his ears and make them ring more), but earplugs wouldn't allow him to ear the music well enough to make it worth his while (or money) to attend. These do exactly the opposite. They cut the ambient noise and allow the noise he wants to hear to filter through, but at a level that doesn't damage his sensitive ears. He can go to concerts again and enjoy the music without fear of making his ears worse. He can protect his ears from the airplane noise but still hear his coworkers and the pilots/passengers. He's asked me to buy him a couple of back-up pairs so he has one at home, one at work, and one in case he loses any of them. Thank you so much!

Don't fit well, so don't lower volume enough
These are too small for my ears and so don't reduce the sound enough. I have a set of Etymotic earplugs I bought a few years ago that I love and these are definitely smaller.

Best value I’ve found— been buying these for years and giving them to friends
Best ear plugs ever. I wear them out to loud venues and I can still talk with friends while wearing them and I just makes the background noise so much better

In famiglia siamo fan dell'heavy metal e partecipiamo a molti concerti solitamente in locali dove l'acustica lascia spesso a desiderare.
