Tried both ways before applying make up as well as at the end for setting well it gives a nice dewy look and finish to the skin however did not work on me for keeping the make up on in the afternoon summer month of May for an occasion for which had purchased. My skin too is more sweaty so did not work for me. However guess in an Ac hall or cooler climate may work will try then.
