i need to know the maximum depth for detecting buried treasure?

It all depends on the size of the target that you are hunting. For deep cache hunting like a deep jar of coins, I recommend the Fisher Gemini 3 Cache Hunter. If you are just looking for smaller individual coins then the GPX5000 would be a better choice but remember that this is a pulse induction machine and it will positive identify iron as a good target. Pulse Induction metal detectors cannot discriminate out iron so you will dig everything with this type of machine.

is it made in china..?

The "Australian" Minelab detectors are made in Malaysia.
