Ideal for whiskey, bourbon, scotch, wine, and cocktails. Review: Work great! - My husband and I gifted a set of these to our son for Christmas. He had asked for a granite set of chillers, but after doing some research, we opted to purchase these instead. Our son uses them for chilling whiskey, but they would work for most beverages I imagine. These are especially useful when drinking something you don't want diluted by melting ice cubes or want to chill to a specific temperature range (like whiskey). Where granite would be somewhat porous and may absorb whatever liquid it's put in to chill, this isn't an issue the steel. The round shape rolls around nicely in the glass as compared to square ones, and they come with small tongs to remove the balls when your beverage is chilled before drinking (think potential for chipped teeth). We will definitely purchase more. Terrific gift! Review: Be careful, or you'll have those balls in your mouth. - I really like these. Not just for the gag value. Or for the self-interest of donating to a place that is researching to save all of our balls. They're pretty good for cooling small amounts of beverages. This is important to bear in mind. Small amounts. For the sake of experimentation, I used these to cool other, non-alcoholic beverages. I can imagine my physics teacher laughing at me. The high thermal conductivity of steel causes it to absorb heat rapidly from your drink, so it cools down quickly. If you're only drinking a small quantity of a fine beverage like bourbon (~2-4 fl oz), this product will perform as you expect it to. The issue I had is that I neglected to remember that the specific heat (heat capacity) of steel is kinda low. Even with whatever they've put inside, it will not absorb anywhere near the kind of energy that ice cubes would. So don't try to use them for cooling your tea like I did. You'll just end up with two very hot balls of steel. The included tongs can come in handy, as cold bare metal fresh from the freezer will stick to your skin. Also, they need to be _gently_ placed into containers made of glass or you will break those containers.

Work good enough for me
They work as well as another set of 'Stones' I bought at the same time. Great to chill a drink without watering it down. My only complaint and probably my fault for not realizing it is that they are pretty small. If you are in 100degree temps and need to put 2 in your drink then you are out until they refreeze. Again my fault as pictures clearly show 2 small balls in the glass. But hey work so no complaints on the product.

Definitely worth it!
These are a great gift for anyone who likes drinks cold but not watered down. They work wonderfully and are a classy addition to any glass. Bonus—they help support a great cause!

if the drink isn't cold this won't make it cold ...
if the drink isn't cold this won't make it cold. works if what you add it to is already cold, but doesn't stay cold that long

Cool down that bourbon!
Ice, even big cubes, melts and waters down my bourbon. Unacceptable. Tried whiskey stones. They help but not great. These things work much better. I use four at a time in my drink. A little pricey but that is what gift giving occasions are for.

Awesome product
Bought these for my dad and he loved them, we were both laughing at the packaging and it brought a lot of happiness, plus the product works great

Don't work at all.
I got 2 sets of these for friends, both told me that even after being in the freezer overnight they failed to noticeably cool off a single finger of whiskey. So we tried putting all 4 in the same cup, pouring a single finger over them. It never got cold and they were back to room temperature in under 5 minutes. Total waste of money I have Walmart plastic ice cubes that work better for less than 1/5 the price.
