Always consistent in quality and taste. Full bodied yet smooth tasting black tea.
I have been buying this Dilmah Ceylon tea now for many years. It is a full bodied, yet smooth tasting black tea. I have found that this tea is always consistent in quality and taste. I make it with fresh cold water heated to a rolling boil in an electric kettle, not with water warmed up in the microwave. As with any black teas, of course, it will get bitter if I forget to take the bags out of the tea pot.

Simply the best!
Discovered/became addicted to this brand while living overseas...not available locally, thank goodness for Amazon. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. Always fresh, quality never a problem with this seller.

Classic, rich, smooth tea-- highly recommend
Dilmah is my favorite tea. My husband and I have been tea drinkers for many years and followed the path that many have taken-- starting with Lipton and other inexpensive brands and gradually improving our selection over the years. Now that you can find and order teas online it is really easy to drink the good stuff. Dilmah is consistently high quality and great flavor. My husband also likes Ahmad but I find that slightly floral-y. He likes Dilmah too and it tastes just exactly like how you would want smooth, rich tea to taste. It was not until we read about it online that we realized that they apparently work to produce tea in ways that are sustainable to the local communities and environment-- which is just an added plus. We buy the 3-pack of 100 bag boxes and don't bother with getting bags that are individually wrapped in paper or cellophane. We keep the current box on the counter and the other two in the freezer until needed. If you want creative alternatives within the Dilmah brand, see my reviews of their single estate elevation teas and the Dilmah Italian Almond tea.

Decent tea, reasonably priced
Good quality tea. Comparable to Twinings breakfast teas. It is not quite as smooth and is more tannic than Twinings Orange Pekoe - which is the best of the Twinings teas in my opinion. However, the Dilmah tea (on Amazon) is much more reasonably priced than Twinings.

Hands down one of the best teas in the world
I've been drinking tea for 60 years and have tried many different flavors of black and green. The Dilmah brand is up there with the very best brands in the world of tea. Their English Breakfast (or to everyone who drinks tea, just black everyday, all day tea) has a somewhat different taste from Twinings (both are excellent). My son enjoys both the bagged and loose leaf styles as well. This specific offering is an everyday tea that I use for breakfasts, lunch and afternoon tea alike. The flavor is smooth and overall mild, not too tangy or overly strong. If you want a really strong tea then this is probably not for you but I prefer something more gentle and easy on the palette. I will keep buying this as long as I can get it here in the US.

Prices of this are out of control!
This tea is terrific however the prices have gone up to an insane amount so I deducted 2 stars for that alone. Just out of principle I will no longer be buying this. $38 for 3 boxes is totally not worth it. I just purchased Red Rose teabags for $4 a box and it tastes wonderful! Truthfully Red Rose tea it is just as good and even better than Dilmah. You can get more than 3 boxes of Red Rose tea for the price of one box of Dilmah tea. So glad the prices of Dilmah skyrocketed because I would have never tried Red Rose ๐น

Love this tea
I suffered for years with terrible tea after moving to the US. In fact I gave up drinking it and went to coffee. No wonder tea is not popular here. Then I found Dilmah tea on the internet and for several years ordered it from Sri Lanka - and went back to tea drinking. So I was very happy to find it on Amazon. I only drink it at home though, because it's just absolutely no use putting even a good tea bag into a lukewarm cup of water - which is all I can ever get, even after asking for boiling. I suppose they think you'll spill the boiling water all over yourself and then sue. Dilmah tea is wonderful - full of flavor and never bitter.

I don't drink anything else. Smooth, refined, ...
I started drinking Dilmah in New Zealand close to 15 years ago, if not longer. At this time, and possibly still now, it was considered the ubiquitous quality tea that you find in any reasonable establishment. (As a random aside, I started the first Dilmah facebook fanclub, back in 2007, one of MJ Fernando's sons even joined). This is a smooth clean tea. It strengthens consistently and does not become too bitter. I only drink black tea. I love Dilmah. It is worth every penny, and is a lot cheaper in the USA than it was 4 years ago. Cheers!
