Miracle goop!
I have/have hella damaged hair from 11 years of bleaching naturally black hair to a very light blonde so I could dye it fun colors. This stuff made the texture unbelievably better. It’s so much softer and smoother and stronger after using this. It helped my hairs porosity so much. (From taking up to ~8hr to air dry my chin length hair with undercut to having it dry in only a couple hours) The one thing I don’t like about the keratin treatment goop (step 2) is that it smells like if turpentine was bubblegum scented. Seriously, do this in a well ventilated area cuz the fumes will really sting your eyes. Well worth it for the results tho! Also the clarifying shampoo didn’t pull too much color out of my hair, but my hair is on the coarser side and holds onto color really well so mileage may vary for how color safe it is.

Buy goggles and gloves .. really
I recently paid a lot of money to have a Brazilian blowout done in a salon. I watched her do it. And I thought that looks easy enough. So when it came time to have it done again. I just purchased this kit for 1/10 the price I paid her. The instructions were very simple and easy to follow. It does tell you to wear gloves, but does not come with gloves. Thankfully I already had plenty of gloves. I read all the previous comments and tips in the reviews.I washed my hair with the shampoo. Let it dry Naturally. , later that night I got to work. Instantly I realized how little products they’re actually is of the keratin treatment. I had read someone else with long added a bit of water to theirs because it is rather thick already., so I took a chance and I dumped the product in a bowl and added half of that bottle of water to the mix. It worked beautifully, and I had just enough to finish my hair. Now to the adventure , For the love of all things. Do not try to do this process If you have cats puppies, toddlers or anyone else you care about in your home. I started out OK. My eyes were burning a little, but that had happened at the salon too, so I was not alarmed. After all it does have formaldehyde in it. The cats quickly realized I was doing something that they needed to be involved in. They came in, the smell hit them. They started dry heaving and yelling at me, and you’re also trying to get to the product at the same time. I had no idea what kind of effect This might have on two cats, but I certainly did not want to find out. I had my gloves on ready for battle And now I’m trying to wrestle cats without getting this product on them.I’m trying to get the cats out of the bathroom but they were relentless. I end up having to shut the door and now I am locked in a hot box of formaldehyde with the cats on the other side of the door, screaming, and scratching. I had tears running down my face, mostly from the formaldehyde, but partly from my frustrations at this point, I myself was gagging and running around the bathroom. Trying to out run The stench coming off of my hair burning my eyeballs. Let me just go ahead and tell you that you cannot out run it. Most people would’ve stopped at this point But I was halfway through the process, and had a cruise coming up so I had no choice, but to march on.. I finished applying the product as it said, and then got to Work blow drying it all while tears rolling down my face. My hair is very thick and blow drying it on cold did take quite a while. Once I got it Mostly dry, The smell did simmer down a little bit, although I still had burning tears rolling down my face. Next step I powered through my burning eyes to flat iron my hair. I opted for the 390° because I do have blonde hair and that is what the instructions said to do. Then I immediately jumped in the shower, thanking the stars above, that I could still see. i’ve then blow dried it and straightened it again, and it looked as good. If not better than it did when I left the salon. This picture is a couple days later, and I have not touched it since I did it. But my hair is soft and smooth As can be. If I had it to do all over again, I would wear a snorkel mask and do it somewhere that there is not cats. Otherwise, the process went smoothly.

Skip the salon, get this instead
TLDR Version: My hair is long, thick, and 'crinkly'. This is my second time using this product and the results are awesome and long-lasting. Use in a WELL ventilated room. You won't think the product smells bad at first, and it doesn't. But then it hits you and there is no excape. If it gets really bad, so outside for a few minutes and let your space air out. I used about 3/4 of the shampoo (washed twice), the entire 4 oz bottle of treatment, and the entire bottle of hair mask. If your hair is longer than mine you may want to get two sets. Tip: Do NOT wash your hair for 3 days after the treatment and use a quality Keratin-treatment specialized shampoo when you do. Using regular shampoo immediately after the treatment will cancel all your hard work and you won't get great results. Long version: If you have hair like mine, you know it's a struggle to manage. From fly-aways to frizz to always looking like a hot mess, I understand the pain. Flat ironing helps but who has time for all that? I dreamed of being able to "wash and go". Salon options were out of reach because of cost and time, so I tried this home option without expecting much. I first used this product in March of 2022 and OMG, I had incredible results. The process took FOREVER - from blow drying my freshly washed mop to brushing on the treatment to blow drying it again using the cold setting to flat ironing every strand. My arms were jelly, my nose was runny, my eyes were tearing - but I had beautiful, straight, and flowing hair. The treatment lasted well over 9 months; after that I started to notice more and more frizz returning and my hair started to tangle more. Time to set aside a day to do it again but I did it a little smarter this time around. After washing my hair with the shampoo, which basically strips it down to a rats nest of straw, I let it air dry until it was damp but not completely dry. The first photo is what my hair looked like after the wash. I then parted my hair into 8 sections (which was difficult to do being that my hair was extremely tangled) and using gloves, dumped the treatment into a bowl and used my fingers to spread it through each section, followed by the comb to make sure each strand was covered. So much quicker! The instructions say to use a blow dryer on a cold setting to dry the hair. Um, hello? It took me a good 2 hours to get my hair dry last time. Cold air + long, thick hair = HAHAHAHA, nope. This time around I planned in advance - I let it air dry as I worked (desk job, work from home). This might not be an option for you so plan on spending half the day watching TV or whatever takes up 5-6 hours. For the flat ironing, I did it per usual. I don't have expensive flat irons; mine are 1" and 2" Remmington brands from Walmart that I've had forever. They only go up to 430 degrees so that's what I used, going over each little section multiple times. Your hair will get VERY hot and smoke a little as you flatten your hair into submission. Although the instructions say that there is no wait time before rinsing, I did wait about 15 minutes. I rinsed the treatment out of my hair and applied half the bottle of the hair mask, brushing it through with a comb. Then I applied the rest of the bottle by working it through with my fingers; wrapped my hair in a towel, and rinsed again an hour later. You can rinse it out after 5 minutes but I had a conference call and decided to wait. After rinsing, I towel dried my hair, combed it, and let it air dry again. The second photo is it fully dry - no product, no flat iron, nothing. Exactly how it looked and felt last time I used this product. Now the 3-day timer begins - the instructions don't say this but it's best to wait at least 72 hours before getting your hair wet (even sweat) or washing. Don't use any product or accessories in your hair during this time. If you are a violent sleeper like I am (tossing and turning), it's OK to flat iron your hair straight again as needed. After 3 days, wash with a shampoo specifically designed for keratin treated hair. It MUST be sulfate and salt-free (more below). Maintenance: There isn't much to maintaining the treatment other than to use quality products. I use Keratin Complex Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner that I only buy from Ulta (3rd party sellers on Amazon are known to be knockoffs). Yes, it's expensive at $48 for a 32oz bottle...each. It hurts a little when I buy them. Actually, it hurts A LOT but it's worth it. I've been using them since my last treatment and without a doubt is the reason why it lasted so long. BUT, I picked up a set of Loreal Ever Pure Moisture Shampoo/Conditioner for camping and it's every bit as good and much more affordable ($17/23oz bottle). I don't get any kind of kick back from mentioning these two brands, just personal experience. Also, be kind to your treated hair. Keep it natural as much as possible, use sulfate/salt-free products (even dry shampoos, hair spray, etc.). Nothing will strip your hair faster than salt. Limit use of heat stylers. Other than doing this treatment I haven't used my flat irons in a year. When I have needed to blow dry my hair it takes much less time and I can use the low heat setting. Hopefully this review helps if you are looking for something to try at home.

Buy this and start a vacation fund. WORKS AMAZING
I get my hair professionally straightened twice a year, typically opting for either a Brazilian Blowout or a Keratin Treatment. My last appointment took about three hours and cost $520, including the tip (SF Bay Area prices). Recently, I lost my job, so spending that kind of money wasn’t an option. My hair was way past due and looking very rough! I was desperate, so decided to risk it and try the DIY kits despite all the warnings I heard from stylists: "Do not do it at home. You will ruin your hair!" "Your flat iron won't get hot enough." "The product isn’t strong enough." "These treatments aren’t legally sold online." "It will only last a few weeks." All not true and bad advice! I was worried my hair might break off or look fried, but I decided to go for it —and I’m so glad I did!!! My DIY hair experience is limited to a few disastrous bang cuts. I have thick blonde hair (about armpit length) with grown-out highlights. The top layer is mostly straight, but the underside is wavy and frizzy. Overall, my hair is pretty healthy. Time Commitment: The process took me about 4 hours. I have very thick hair, so 1.5 hours of that was spent blow-drying my hair; you are required to use cold air only. Fumes: The fumes were intense! No different than when at the salon but I had a cold and a sore throat, which made it worse. Once I turned on a fan and opened a window, I was fine. I highly recommend having a fan ready before starting. After-Smell: I was worried my hair would smell bad afterward, but it doesn’t have any noticeable odor. Product Usage: I purchased the smaller bottles and used all of the treatment (Step 2), 3/4 of the shampoo, and about half of the conditioner. Flat Iron Heat: My flat iron goes up to 450°F, which worked perfectly. After three passes with the iron, my hair was too hot to touch, so a thermal glove would have helped. When they mean 6-8 passes they mean it. I can tell where I only did a few passes. Supplies: You do not need a brush to apply #2. I found it much easier to put on with my fingers (wearing gloves). I also did not have a comb, which made it hard to separate into sections, and I think it would help my hands from getting burned by hot hair. Tips: Start applying the #2 on the section of hair that gives you the most issues to make sure you get that hair very saturated. Then, if you have leftover, go back and put on areas that cause you the most problems. Mine is the hair next to my neck; when I sweat, it curls up. Final Thoughts: I will not go back to the salon for this treatment ever!!! The results way exceeded my expectations! My hair is smooth, shiny, and straight—and it doesn’t look fried or damaged. The treatment has held up beautifully so far, proving the naysayers wrong. If I had known about this sooner, I could have saved so much money, and I would be planning an amazing Hawaiian Islands for the Holidays (and the humidity would not have made my hair a frizzy mess) Side note on the no job and forced to do DIY treatments: I also did the DIY eyelash perm and tint on myself. It was AMAZING. It looks so good! I will never have that done at a salon, either; next up, I might try and pull off highlighting my hair. So far 2 for 2......Look at me go!

Super straight, shiny hair with long-lasting results, strong smell but worth it
This keratin treatment left my hair incredibly straight, soft, and shiny. Almost a month later, it still looks the same as the first day I applied it, which honestly impressed me. The results have lasted way better than other keratin kits I’ve tried. The smell is very strong, and yes, your eyes will burn a little while applying it but that’s completely normal with keratin. Nothing unbearable, just make sure you use it in a place with good ventilation because the fumes can hit your throat sometimes. Application was actually really easy. The instructions are clear, and they come in both English and Spanish, which helps a lot. Everything about the process felt simple and straightforward. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because I had some “fake dandruff” for the first few days not real dandruff, just product residue that doesn’t look great. It went away after about a week to a week and a half, and then my hair looked perfect again. I would definitely buy this product again. For the price and the quality, it honestly works better than many salon keratins I’ve had in the past.

Short version: it works and it works very well.
You can see my hair, it’s thick mostly in the back and if I just wash my hair and literally do nothing - I look like a clown. The only photo (#1) you see is the best shot I could get without looking like an idiot (all others are really comically bad, imagine a lion in the flesh of a human lol). I’ve been straightening my hair most of my life, bleached it and now I grew them out. Just natural hair without anything done to them. I thought I’m not gonna have enough of product.. (2oz for shoulder length hair) but I ended up with extra leftovers. I washed them multiple times, dried as much as I could imagine hair be “90%” dry or whatever(#2-3). Applied 2nd step and spend a LOT of time drying them out. Hack - use a literal cheap fan from Walmart for $20 It made a difference compare to me just trying to use a hand held hair drier (at the very beginning). After I did a really bad job at “ironing” them out, cause I did not care. I didn’t do it “professionally”, whatever felt normal for me, I didn’t count amount of times I went though each “section”(#4 before washing product off). First time wash - I couldn’t wait 5 days, my hair after 2 days (3 nights in total) felt oily, it was bad (that’s how my scalp felt at least) so I had to wash it ASAP. I think I didn’t wash the product off completely. “After” photo is a week later, 3 washes total. I literally washed them, wrapped my hair in the towel, after the dinner I used a dryer a bit till it felt like almost dry (it wasn’t really on the back) and here I am (#5) WOW for me, who did a half hearted job, still put her hair behind her ears and SWEATED like it’s my job ( can’t do anything about it, it’s my skin/genetics). Next time I will make my husband to help me section and flat iron them. Fumes weren’t a big deal (I thought it will be way worse). It did “hit” my eyes two times, when air was stagnant, so make sure to keep the air MOVING while applying step 2 and while ironing them. It didn’t literally touched my eye, when the fumes (chemicals) went up, they went toward my face and it stings (makes you cry a bit). Use the fan on low setting to blow the air away from you with open windows. No particular smell. Also, don’t use mask on your hair even if you have a leftovers after the whole ordeal. It made my scalp/hair oily to fast. Maybe it’s just doesn’t work for me, I warned you! (I still used it as a step 3 tho, don’t skip it). I tried to do it fast, in two hours, ended up spending about 3, I think that “90 minutes” is plausible for my hair after I had experience and know what to do. Plus I take forever in the shower. I broke rules, did not care, was FAST AS F BOIII and that’s my results? Hell yeah! P.S. Light source was right above my head(#5), that’s why it looks a bit bad. No worries, that’s my baby hair! I think.. 😂 Regardless, I am gonna come back to buy more! And yes, amount of compliments I got was crazy, I send all of my coworkers the link! Edit: removed my comment about exp date.. I’m blind and didn’t realized that it was MADE in August this year.. 🤪

I know how “brazilian” keratin products works. I hope you read it and my review can help you out.
For the price? Awesome. The smell? Bumble gum smell. Too strong, also. I live in Florida and the weather sucks and my hair is super frizzy all the time so I needed to get my hair down for God’s Sake! It did the trick. I followed instructions, I did not had all the patience to blow dry on cold air as it takes forever... but could dry almost all my hair, like 90%. Half of my hair had suffered a chemical cut before and was once blonde, so it was fragile, but it didn’t ruined my hair in any ways. It worked in the whole hair and I can feel my hair is healthy. For those who doesn’t know: the shampoo is required because it will prepare and open the follicles of your hair, so your hair will be prepared to receive the hair straightener cream. Do not rush using the shampoo, let it take effect, you will feel your hair weird. Wash 2 times with the shampoo. The much smoother you want, the most you have to use the (iron) hair straightener. Like 10x to 15x each section. ATTENTION: All keratin Hair Straightener products, all hair straighteners in cream like this, ALL OF THEM, use formaldehyde. That’s why it HURTS your eyes, your scalp, your nose. If you are applying alone in a bathroom you will want to run out of there. As formaldehyde is forbidden, ALL the companies do the same: First: apply a VERY STRONG scent to the product to help hid the awful smell of formaldehyde. Most of them use a bumble gum scent. Second: as I said, formaldehyde is forbidden, so they use an ingredient that is not formaldehyde itself but TURNS INTO formaldehyde when you apply HEAT. That’s why when you blow dry it using heat air or when you use the hair straightener, the smoke it produces is the Formaldehyde in gas state. So, be in a very very open and well ventilated area. That wasn’t my case so I suffered the whole process, had a small part of my head near the forehead burned (because a little bit of the product touched my skin and I didn’t cleaned right away), had a strong headache, burnt eyes during part of the process, couldn’t breathe when I was just APPLYING so I had to keep changing the rooms while applying the product, so the smell won’t be concentrated just in one small area... it was terrible but I KNEW what was going to be like, I was mentally prepared for all this suffering, including the formaldehyde part on my head, because my hair frizz really sucks and it was messing with my self esteem. I highly recommend doing a test before to see if your hair won’t have a chemical cut, because, you know, formaldehyde. Now my hair, that used to looks like and old grandma frizzy hair, is super smooth and shiny. I hope it helps you.

Good for first timers
This was my first time and I didn’t have high expectations as I was doing it myself. My research was fresh and I needed something fast. Now that I’ve done it and have more research I will say this is beginner friendly. This treatment is beyond different from others that I’d now recommend. If you have ethnic hair you will require a small amount of heat in the blow drying process. Also, allowing the product to sit for a longer amount of time before blow drying. My hair did not dry at all on the cold setting. You will need a good blow dryer. When I put my blow dryer on the smallest heat with the highest blow dry it worked out better for me. The results were good the first and second week, as the weeks go on (I’m on week 4) it’s washing out which is normal. I don’t feel like the results were incredible changing. However it does get me through the week and I’m happy about that. Will I use this brand again? Probably not but like I said if you want to just try it out until you master it, this is the box for you. The chemicals are also VERY STRONG!
