Bosch S5A11 - car battery - 80A/h - 800A - AGM technology - adapted for vehicles with Start/Stop system

I’ve been using this Bosch car battery for two weeks now and, honestly, so far so good. No issues at all with starting, even on colder mornings, which was something I was slightly worried about before fitting it. One thing I noticed pretty quickly, and this was actually a nice surprise, was the start-stop system. It hadn’t been working for a couple of years before, so I’d kind of forgotten about it. But after installing the new battery, it started working again after about 3 miles of driving and has been fine ever since. That alone makes me think the old battery was definitely past its best. The fitment was straightforward on my W213 (2017 diesel), and everything just worked as it should. No warning lights, no coding issues, nothing unexpected. Price-wise, it’s also very competitive. Compared to places like Halfords or Kwik Fit, this felt like much better value for money, especially considering the quality. Overall, I’d recommend it, especially if your start-stop hasn’t been working and you suspect the battery might be the cause. In my case, it seems that was exactly it.

Fitted to a Discovery Sport L550. Used a Ancel LD700 tool to reset the battery monitoring after fitting and now everything works as it should.

Started having electrics problems a few weeks after fitting this Bosch battery. Thought it was a power distribution issue but an auto electrician confirm that it was actually this battery is faulty. Supposed to be brand new. Like other reviewers have said, clearly this seller is selling dodgy product. Avoid.

I started experiencing battery issues on my 2013 Porsche Boxster which was still on its original factory fitted battery. Porsche themselves charge over £400 to supply and fit a new one so I wasn’t keen on paying that. A quick search online showed this is a direct replacement, same size and slightly more capacity at an absolute fraction of the price. Fitted fairly easily (watch your back!) and I coded it onto the car with my icarsoft obd reader. Normal service resumed and all battery problems gone. I have heard that if you want to extend the official Porsche warranty they’ll reject a non-Porsche branded battery so that’s something to be aware of if you go this route.

Was soll ich schreiben, qualitativ hochwertige AGM Starterbatterie, die unauffällig und zuverlässig im Hintergrund ihren Dienst tut. Alte ausgebaut, neue eingebaut, kurz mit Carly angelernt und gut ist. Ne Menge Geld habe ich auch noch gespart. Start Stop funktioniert wieder, alles gut. Mal sehen, ob sie auch 10 Jahre hält, wie die alte Batterie.
