Maeda-En Matcha Ceremonial Quality Green Tea Powder, 1-Ounce

The size may be small, but the taste and purity is wonderful! The color is a wonderful bright green showing it's purity which helps aid in taste. My son and I have used it as a normal hot tea, he adds a little bit of sugar to help sweeten it. Otherwise you will be left with an earthy taste. I have created many kinds of smoothies in a blender adding frozen fruits, milk, ice, and so on depending on what kind of flavor, texture and consistency I am going for. A little of this goes a long way too. For a 16oz smoothie for us to split, I will use a half a teaspoon or less. I just measure it out and pour it in the blender. For a hot tea, I recommend a 1/4 to 1/2 tops teaspoon of the matcha. I suggest sitting it into the mug first, add your hot water and mix well until there is no clumps, unless you own a matcha kit that says otherwise possibly.

Really good for hot tea. Dissolves great. I used an electric hand wisk, it was nice and smooth flavor without leaving the aftertaste so many others do. Really good product

This is the only match you'll need, it has such a great taste especially in our homemade lattes! The powder is such a bright green not like other brands! Overall I recommend 100% and the price makes it 10 times better!! The size container isn't too big that's the only complaint I have. And it smells amazing also.

I'm very pleased with this matcha. I usually order matcha from a website called O-Cha, which is based in Japan, in order to ensure that what I receive is fresh and high-quality, since anyone with even a casual interest in matcha knows that when matcha is good, it's the best, but when it's bad, hardly anything could be worse. I'll deal with less freshness for a quick cup of tea from a bag, but with matcha it's worth going the extra mile. But, sometimes you need something quick and since I'm a prime member, I picked this ceremonial grade matcha to try based on reviews and my previous success with matcha lattes using Maeda-En's culinary grade matcha (I get the one pound bag!). It's also really not badly priced for the quality, although you could probably spend the same amount on O-Cha for something a bit better and fresher, although shipping would take longer. I recommend this product for thin (usucha) matcha anytime. It comes packed in the little metal tin with snap on lid you see pictured, with a little pull-top metal seal under the plastic lid. Inside the tin is a sealed bag with the powdered tea, which you need to open carefully with scissors. I keep it stored in this bag inside the tin in the freezer. From the beginning I knew this was good stuff; the powder is fine, bright green, and has a lovely sweet green tea scent. None of the old, dull product we usually have to deal with buying in America. It produces a cup with no bitterness that froths up quickly and easily, with the same rich (umami) taste as matcha more than twice it's price, although not as bold, which some people will probably prefer actually. I do like it strong, so I think I use more product than many people would, something to keep in mind if you like it bold. I wouldn't use it for thick-type matcha (koicha) because some bitterness will come out if you use enough powder for that, but that is expected at this price. I also can't comment on getting any mental boost or clarity from this since that is just something that I never experience from matcha, no matter how fine. In any case, I'm glad to have found this for $24 and would repurchase, although I wouldn't pay any more for it.

I love this Matcha. I wish that I could get it in a bigger container. I make Matcha lattes every day. So this little tin doesn’t last me that long. That’s the downfall of it. But the taste is wonderful. I just wish the size was bigger. The texture is great mixes up, wonderfully, quality amazing. I definitely recommend if you don’t mind spending a little extra money just know that the container is small

Gross. This is not the same brand quality as I get from the Asian markets. I noticed the second I started whisking that it didn’t dissolve as well. Then the taste- horrible, tastes old. Price was great, but not for the quality. I purchase for normally $35 at the store.

One of the better brands on Amazon. I am a daily matcha drinker (tea, sans milk) and discerning. I've tried more than 10 brands and this is one of the good ones. It's a deep shade of jade green which should be, and not bitter unlike some brands that market themselves otherwise. Would recommend

I absolutely love the quality of this matcha powder, the colour of the powder is a vibrant green and tastes authentic too. I am a matcha newbie hence was skeptical, because there was just so many powders to choose from, but ended up getting this because it was more on the affordable side. Matcha honestly has so many benefits - its rich in anti-oxidants and has L theanine- all of which is good for you, and hence have started drinking this daily. As someone who enjoys matcha daily, I can confidently say that this powder is good, especially for lattes.
