I loved that it is a modern up to date Spider-Man comic. Glad to see them keeping up with the times.

While the spider-man comic was short, it was pretty good. The twist at the end was cool, but the last panel that spelled it out exactly was stupid and overkill. The previous panel was interesting and made the twist obvious enough. I think the Spider-Man comic does a good job of recapping a few things and sets up the new #1 well. If I were a Spider-man reader, I'd definitely be interested in seeing what happens next. The Guardians of the Galaxy was more of a recap. While it was a pretty good recap and went over quite a bit from the past maybe year? or so, that's all it was. No new information that I could see. Though I have to admit the format was pretty cool. But I had to pop back to the first page a couple of times to check the image of who was supposed to be giving the recap. All in all I thought this was a good read, especially for the FCBD.

I didn't really get the Guardians of the galaxy bit at the end, and the Spiderman comic was a little confusing without explaining why Wilson Fisk was the mayor.

So many characters and the set up was easy for my grandson to follow! He absolutely loved how the Guardian section was set up!

A "free comic book day" comic from 2018 that includes a Spider-Man comic and a Guardians of the Galaxy comic. Both were excellent!

If you like reading comics on your Kindle the way I appreciate them in print, Free Comic Day 2018 is probably a five star for you. The artwork is stunning. Better than five star, actually. The cynical storyline is also five star.. So, why give it only four stars? Perhaps it is more my shortcoming than it is the Kindle version, but, even full-screen, I have difficulty reading the ballooned captions. If I find the comiic book available at my local store, I definitely will purchase it. The effort required to read it on my iPhone or iPad tends to subdue my desire for instant gratification. BOTTOM LINE Four stars out of five.
