how long does it take to set up?

Set up is super easy...I would say initially it may take you 30 secs...next time around once you know how it works, it's less than 10 secs. Good luck. By the way, it's a lifesaver on the beach on a hot day.

Can you fit this in checked luggage ?

The length of carry bag (without individual box) is 21.3". It fits in checked luggage. It even fits for some of carry-on luggage if the suitcase is not too small or put it in diagonal position.

Does this shelter have sand pockets?

No. We had to use the stakes to anchor it. But it worked very well on a calm day. The second day was very windy and it kept blowing over. But that was happening to almost everyone's on the beach.

What is the return policy?

I think its 30 days as per Amazon's policy but you won't want to return it. It's a great item for the beach.
